Here come the Tri's!
A Corgi that had a big influence in the Peri Lane breeding program was a beautiful boy named "Gino" or more officially known as Ch Renefield GQ At Peri Lane who was Winners Dog at the Potomac Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club Specialty Show in 1997. He was a very sweet boy who's time on earth was too short and we lost him before he turned three years old. He did manage to leave us with a beautiful daughter when bred to Pot O'Gold's Sunset Boulevard, NA, and produced Ch Pot O'Gold's Allure At Perilane - or our "Daphni" as we call her, the foundation bitch of Peri Lane Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Daphni became a champion in 2000 and on the way to making up her title had some lovely specialty wins--she was Best in Sweepstakes at the Mayflower PWCC Specialty in 1999 as well as Reserve Winners Bitch; she was Winners Bitch at the Ohio Valley Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club Specialty Show in 2000; as well as earning four Best of Breeds and a Group 4 Award enroute to her title. After becoming an A.K.C. Champion and after careful consideration, we decided that she would be bred to Am/Can Ch Sandyshire's Sunny Delight, ROM, owned by our good friend and dog show partner, Yolanda Lininger of Linincorgi Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
THE NEXT GENERATION~
This litter was a breeder's dream come true--from the seven puppies, one went on to become Ch Peri Lane The Victory Dance "Tessi" and her brother, the pride and joy of Peri Lane, BISS Ch Peri Lane The Ghost Dancer, our "Dylan" who became a champion by going Winners Dog at four specialty shows and winning two Best In Sweepstakes as a younster, finishing in seven shows, all breeder/owner/handled. The ultimate highlight in our hobby of showing dogs was when Dylan was awarded Best In Specialty Show at the Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club Specialty in 2003; Dylan continues to earn top honors at specialty shows throughout the country now as a cherished veteran. He is our dog that represents the "breed standard"!
We also retained a girl, Peri Lane Trail Of Tears who later was bred to Ch Summertime Enchanted Knight, and we are currently showing her son, Peri Lane One For The Road, "Lance". Yolanda bred "Tessi" to Ch Mar-Wil Rosher Chili Mac and from that litter we co-own in partnership a girl named Linincorgi Peri Ln Victory Cheer, "Kayla" who is pointed towards her championship title.
Daphni's litter also produced an agility girl owned by Barbara and Paul Curry who has had an outstanding career, as of this date, she is MACH2 Peri Lane The Kachina Doll, CGC, known as Dolly and is more than half way towards her MACH3 title!
